Sustainability

True sustainability encompasses more than the title “certified organic.” The certification of organic processes is certainly extremely important for sustainability, but there are other important elements to building a sustainable company. At Aurora Organic, we are committed to a broad vision of sustainability that encompasses all of the organic regulations, as well as issues such as soil health, waste management, the use of renewable resources, water conservation and a full spectrum of human health initiatives that apply to the way we treat our employees and partners.

For us, Sustainability is a far-reaching philosophy that sees the management of agricultural land and animals as part of the larger whole of human, animal, plant, soil and water health, encompassing issues such as biodiversity, preservation and wise use of resources and the development of viable models of sustainable businesses and economies.

We embrace this broader vision because, while all certified organic goods must follow stringent, USDA-regulated organic rules, they do not necessarily have to follow broader principles of sustainability. We see ourselves as Organic Stewards and passionate proponents of Sustainability.
