State-of-the-Art Facilities Preserve Quality & Organic Integrity
Organic farming and the production of organic dairy products take place across a wide array of facilities. These facilities include farms, pastures, croplands, barns, pens, milking parlors, processing plants, trucks and warehouses, eventually leading to the store shelves where consumers find their favorite foods. Organic is unique in the way it can combine traditional values that respect the earth and the natural interplay between humans, plants and animals with modern, scientific and technological progress.
To some, the presence of technology and progress in organic is disconcerting and seems like a contradiction. After all, isn’t organic all about smallness, about natural purity and harmony rather than the evils of technology and modern society? This is a worthy question and one that merits a thoughtful response.
At Aurora Organic Dairy, we believe that the fullest promise of organic movement is met when traditional rural agricultural values are combined with state-of-the-art technology and advances in agricultural techniques. This unique combination of the traditional and the technological creates a new model for growing organic food that is safe, high in quality and expansive in scale, while continuing to provide worthy stewardship to the earth and its resources.
As such, we have created a model for our facilities that brings new ideas and advanced techniques to the creation of organic dairy products, while adhering both to the principles of the organic movement and to the provisions of the USDA’s National Organic Program.
